Dueteronomy 31:8 “The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you, He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Do we really believe this? Do we truly trust God to fight the battle in a war He has already won? I can honestly say by visual evidence we do not, so many of our actions are out of self preservation… Not speaking up when we should, or not shutting up when we should, or not being willing to let go of something that only matters on this earth.

We need to stop reciting this as a cliche encouragement to others and ourselves and get it from our heads into our hearts! Walk out the faith we claim to have, let Him go before us. Not worrying if the words we use will be heard correctly that’s the Spirits job, or worrying that when something has come against us the guilty party wont “pay” for it… that is not our concern, ours is to show the love of Jesus and let God bring them to knowledge of what they’ve done. If comfort is needed He himself will bring it to you. And if we are asked to give up things we feel we shouldn’t have to, consider this, does having that thing make you more useful in telling the lost about Jesus? Or do you think that maybe God is big enough to use us without it?

There is so much more to this, and yes I want to encourage those going through something to remember that God truly goes before us, is always with us, it is physically impossible for Him to leave someone walking with Him, because He said He wouldn’t. But I want to also urge you and myself to get this into the heart and not just the head otherwise we are living a lie.
